Maria Matiashova

Ukrainian artist from Kyiv. Maria obtained a law degree at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. However, she left the legal profession and began artistic practice in 2020. In her practice, the artist aims for simple but expressive gestures. She explores social relations, institutions, and language. Maria works with video, text, performance, and installation. Her artworks have been exhibited in Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
